Christian Louboutin.

At least once in your life you have heard about the fabulous Christian Louboutin's shoes! Those trademark glossy red soles are stamp of fashion nowadays, from razor-sharp stilettos to lace-up boots!
Well here you have the story about this designer.

Christian Louboutin is a french shoe designer. He grew up in Paris and he was expelled from school three times and ran away from home at the age of 12.

His formal training started at the Académie d'Art Roederer (drawing and decoratice arts). Louboutin claims his fascination with shoes began in 1976 when he visited the Musée National des Arts d'Afrique et d'Océanie (Paris). The first sign he saw before becoming a shoe designer was from Africa, forbidding women wearing sharp stilettos from entering a building for fear of damage to the extensive wood flooring. Also he lived in France, Egypt and a year in India searching for inspiration for his designs.

Some years after Louboutin met Roger Vivier*, Louboutin became an apprentice in Vivier's atelier,  going on to serve as freelance designer designed women's shoes for Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Maud Frizon.
In the late 1980's, he turned away from fashion and becaime a landscape gardener and to contribute to Vogue. Then in 1991 he sets up his company.

* Roger Vivier: he claims to have invented the stiletto or spiked-heel shoe.

Fast Facts about Louboutin:

1. Christian Louboutin has a weakness for books and colorful ties. In Financial Times' How to Spend it magazine, Christian Louboutin said:

"If I go shopping, it might be to buy two or three more ties, which I never wear, or shirts from Charvet on Place Vendome. Here they have the most magnificent coloured ties: it's like looking at a lovely garden. I have tons of them at home and I am perfectly happy not to wear them."

2. After completing his work with shoe designer Roger Vivier in 1989, Louboutin returned with his own collection of footwear. He declares:

"I wanted to defy that, " Louboutin said. "I wanted to create something that broke rules and made women feel confident and empowered."
